Ashley is an 11th grader in high school but more importantly a cancer survivor. She enjoys her current work experience at PETCO because it allows her to help people and animals. Her dream job is to be a teacher. Ashely’s mother, Maria was able to find employment through CaPROMISE. Like her daughter, she is passionate about helping people and hopes to become a nurse. She is currently working on completing her high school diploma and has enrolled in a Medical Assistance program. Ashley and Maria were interviewed by their Career Service Coordinator (CSC) Shanice Reed. Alex Moreno was their former CSC.
Since joining CaPROMISE, Davier has become motivated to accomplish his dreams and goals which include pursuing a business degree in college after high school. He has held three work experiences (two paid) and most recently was a master of ceremonies at a Macy’s sponsored back to school fashion show event for CaPROMISE participants. During the event he kept the crowd entertained and also showed his leadership and public speaking abilities. Jeremiah (17) and Destiny (15) are CaPROMISE youth participants. The Madison family, Destiny (daughter), Jeremiah (son), Theodore (dad), and Pamela (mom), were interviewed together by Kaitlin Kimmel, an intern.
Dezier is 15 years old and hopes to one day attend college so that she can pursue her dream in fashion designing. Dezier’s mother (Tauavra) works two jobs to support her four daughters. Dezier and Tauavra were interviewed by their Career Service Coordinator (CSC) Minyon Corcuchia-Garde.
